This is an important boost to our competencies and an impulse for new joint projects. I am convinced that this cooperation will soon translate into concrete initiatives for the region and cluster partners.” – Rafał Maryś, Chairman of the Cluster Council.
Why Important for 8Foundry Alliance?
The accession of the Maritime University of Gdynia significantly broadens the cluster’s competencies in key areas of the modern economy: maritime technologies, logistics, transport, and engineering. The university brings to 8Foundry Alliance rich scientific-research experience, expert backing, and access to highly qualified staff. It also provides an impulse for developing international cooperation, including with partners from Taiwan and African markets, where maritime knowledge and competencies are key to infrastructure and logistics development.
Benefits for Maritime University in Gdynia
Membership in 8Foundry Alliance offers the Maritime University of Gdynia a chance for even closer contact with real market needs. It also opens up international collaboration, including with partners from Taiwan and African markets, and building lasting relations based on shared goals. In practice, this means joint actions in R&D projects, exchange of knowledge and experience, and creating solutions that can reach business from academia faster.
Regional Strength and Tri-City Collaboration
8Foundry Alliance has developed from the start as a cluster strongly rooted in the Pomerania region. Among its members are already institutions and companies linked to the Tricity, such as Łączpol, Port Gdynia, and DGT. The cluster demonstrates the real power of cooperation between local government, infrastructure, and business. These experiences confirm that the Tricity is a place where competencies can be effectively combined to build joint projects of international scale.
