Exactly one year ago, 8Foundry Alliance was established – a cluster designed to connect business, technology, science, and the public sector around real development projects and international cooperation.

Today, after the first 12 months of activity, one thing is clear: the foundation has been built.

It has been a year of intensive work on creating an environment that is not based solely on declarations of cooperation, but on building concrete relationships, partnerships, and development opportunities for cluster members.

In just one year, 23 organizations have joined 8Foundry Alliance – companies, universities, public institutions, and technology partners who together are developing potential in the areas of future industry, digital transformation, smart cities, education, new technologies, and international cooperation.

The first year of activity also meant thousands of kilometres travelled, dozens of strategic meetings, and presence in places where the future directions of technological and economic cooperation are being shaped.

Opening new international directions

The first year of activity was also a period of intensive internationalization.

8Foundry Alliance actively developed cooperation in Asia, building relationships with institutional and technology partners in Taiwan – one of the world’s most advanced technology markets. A key moment was participation in the Smart City Summit & Expo in Taipei and co-creating the first Polish pavilion at an event that is one of the most important platforms for smart city and digital transformation cooperation in Asia.

A very important milestone was the admission of 8Foundry Alliance to the Taipei Computer Association – as the first organization from Europe in history. This opened new opportunities for technological and business cooperation, as well as direct access to partners and projects in the Asian market.

At the same time, we developed activities in Central Asia, including academic and business relations in Uzbekistan – in Tashkent and Termez – which have become one of the most dynamic directions of our expansion.

An important step was also expanding our presence in Africa, with a particular focus on Kenya and Rwanda – as two of the fastest-growing technology hubs. This direction opens entirely new perspectives for cooperation in digital transformation, smart cities, and technology education.

More than an organization

The first year of 8Foundry Alliance confirmed that cooperation between business, academia, and public administration can be a practical tool for development – especially when it is based on shared goals and real action.

We are behind a first year of building community, partnerships, and trust. Ahead of us lies the next stage: developing joint projects, further internationalization, and creating new opportunities for cluster members in Poland and on international markets.
