8Foundry Alliance at the Taiwan–Poland Smart City Forum in Taipei
On 22 October 2025, the Taiwan–Poland Smart City Forum & B2B Matchmaking Event took place in Taipei, focusing on developing business collaboration between Taiwan, Poland, and Africa in the fields of smart city solutions, new technologies, and innovation. 8Foundry Alliance served as one of the strategic partners, actively supporting international economic dialogue and fostering business relations across three continents.
Official opening and keynote addresses
The Forum gathered over 100 representatives from companies, public institutions, NGOs, and academia — reflecting a broad cross-section of sectors and disciplines. The event was officially opened by GJ Lee, Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration (SMESA), who emphasized the Forum’s importance for Taiwan’s economy and its role in strengthening global technological partnerships.

- Jeff Liu – Director of the Taipei Representative Office in Poland
- Janusz Bilski – Director of the Polish Office in Taipei
- Rafał Magryś – Chairman of the 8Foundry Alliance Cluster Council
In their addresses, the speakers highlighted the growing potential for cooperation between Taiwan and Poland in the areas of technology, sustainable development, and digital transformation.

Speakers showcased practical examples of smart city applications in transportation, infrastructure, port management, and Industry 4.0 — demonstrating tangible outcomes of international cooperation across continents.
Over 50 B2B meetings with leading Taiwanese organizations
Following the main presentations, a B2B matchmaking session was held with the participation of 10 members of 8Foundry Alliance from Poland and Africa. The delegation conducted more than 54 meetings with key Taiwanese companies and institutions, including ITRI, Startup Terrace, and Pegatron.
These discussions opened new avenues for collaboration in ICT, IoT, industrial automation, and sustainable urban development, paving the way for future joint projects.

The Forum was organized by the Small and Medium Enterprise and Startup Administration (SMESA) under Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, and implemented by the Institute for Information Industry (III).

- the presentation of Polish companies’ and institutions’ potential,
- and the initiation of discussions on specific technology projects.
Moving forward, 8Foundry Alliance plans to continue its dialogue with Taiwanese partners and to develop joint research and business initiatives arising from the Forum.
